On March 2, 2021, Mr. Chomphol Phornchindarak, 1st Vice President of TGJTA along with Mr. Somnuk Kyavatanakij, Vice President of TGJTA, and Mr. Somchai Phornchindarak, President of Gems Jewelry and Precious Metal Confederation of Thailand (GJPCT) and Deputy Chairman of Advisory Board of TGJTA include TGJTA Board of Directors went to see the place of the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center: BITEC to prepare for the Thailand Gems and Jewelry International Fair to increase trade channels for Thai gem and jewelry entrepreneurs. In the exhibition, there will be a real meeting of buyers and sellers and resulted in efficient trading. Therefore, the committees of the TGJTA have planned to organize the fair and select a suitable place.

 

Mr. Chomphol Phornchindarak, 1st Vice President, and Chief Advisor to the Executive Committee of the fair are assured to organize this fair which will generate domestic trading (B2C) and also prepare the plan for support B2B. At present, many countries have started vaccination of COVID-19 so the major trading partners such as China, America, and European countries, as a result, there have the opportunity to travel internationally and able to make Thai gems and jewelry industry expand the export base in the future.

Mr. Somchai Phornchindarak, Chief Advisor to the Executive Committee of the fair saw that the exhibition of Gems and Jewelry will make the seller and the buyer to negotiate and see the real product which makes the trade of the Gem and Jewelry business generate an efficient. Due to it is a valuable product and requires careful selection of products to get quality and meet the buyers’ requirement. To organizing this fair the aiming is stimulate the industry within the country both those who have the raw material in their hands, raw material processors and jewelry manufacturers that will cause the income turnover of entrepreneurs and also serves as a channel to help Thai Gem and Jewelry entrepreneurs.

Mr. Somnuk Kyavatanakij, Vice President and Chairman of the Exhibition Area Committee has given importance to the convenience of sellers - buyers both domestic and overseas who is interested to participate in the fair, and the suitability of the venue is important. The BITEC can easily travel by the BTS Skytrain Sukhumvit Line and is only 15 kilometers from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Mr. Chakkarin Aungpratip, Sales Director of the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC) informed that BITEC is the only exhibition center in Thailand that has a Bonded Warehouse. To organize the exhibition or fair, it could be reduced the burden and facilitates the exhibitors from overseas able to directly deliver products to the venue without go to the venue by their self because it is the responsibility of the owner of the exhibition venue.
