17ct. Sapphire to Shine at Christie’s New York

A 16.58-carat Kashmir sapphire is the top lot at a Christie’s online sale in New York, where it could fetch up to $1.2 million.

The ring, bearing a cushion-cut cabochon sapphire with tapered baguette-cut diamonds, is expected to lead the October 14 to 23 Jewels Online auction, according to Christie’s.

The auction house will offer more than 150 lots, among them designs from well-known brands such as Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, and Cartier. The sale will also include several colored gemstones and items from the collection of Max and Cecile Draime. 

Here are the rest of the top 10 pieces:

  • This ring features an emerald-cut, 24.99-carat, J-color, VS1-clarity diamond with baguette-cut diamond shoulders. It has an upper estimate of $600,000.

  • Bearing a heart modified brilliant-cut, 3.06-carat, fancy-pink, SI1 diamond, this ring is anticipated to go for up to $400,000.

  • A pair of earrings comprising emerald-cut diamonds, one a 5.03-carat, D, VS1 and the other a 5.02-carat, E, VVS1 stone, both suspended from emerald-cut and round diamonds, will go on the auction block for as much as $300,000.

  • This bracelet contains 24 square emerald-cut diamonds of 2 to 2.06 carats, G to I color and internally flawless to VS2 clarity. It carries a high estimate of $300,000.

  • Christie’s is offering this ring with a modified octagonal step-cut, royal-blue Kashmir sapphire between triangular-diamond shoulders for up to $300,000.

  • A Tiffany & Co. ring with a square emerald-cut, 7.05-carat, E, VS2 diamond and tapered baguette-cut stones has a high estimate of $250,000.

  • This cushion mixed-cut sapphire will go under the hammer for up to $250,000. It features a 4.81-carat Kashmir sapphire between trapezoid diamonds.

  • A pendant featuring a pear brilliant-cut, 14.10-carat, G, VVS2 diamond with the potential to be internally flawless has a high price of $250,000.

  • A Valentin Magro ring bearing a round brilliant-cut, 10.19-carat, G, SI2 diamond has an upper estimate of $250,000.
