International Jewelry Design Contest “China & Thailand Jewelry Design Contest 2025”
Under the theme "Modernize China-Thai"

Kid Category: Ages 8-12 years old
Young Category: Ages 13-17 years old

1. Purpose and Background

Jewelry design is a harmonious blend of artistry and skill that fosters creativity and develops design expertise among youth and the broader public. This competition is intended to provide a platform for individuals eager to showcase their talents, thus strengthening the gems and jewelry industry with innovative ideas from emerging designers. Additionally, it aims to inspire young people and introduce them to the gems and jewelry industry, a vital sector that ranks among the top three revenue-generating industries of Thailand.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Thai-Chinese relations, the association is organizing this competition under the theme "Modernize China-Thai." Participants are invited to draw inspiration from the historical relationship between Thailand and China and translate that into modern designs. The focus is on integrating elements of art, culture, and identity from both China and Thailand with modern aesthetics to create works that reflect contemporary beauty and relevance. 

2. Objectives

  1. Encourage creativity and improve jewelry design skills.
  2. Provide opportunities for young people to learn about the jewelry industry.
  3. Build connections between young people and the jewelry industry.
  4. Promote fresh ideas that can contribute to the jewelry industry.
  5. Encourage the use of technology in jewelry design.
  6. Strengthen cooperation between Thailand and China in the jewelry industry.

3. Target Groups

  1. Kid Category: Ages 8-12 years old
  2. Young Category: Ages 13-17 years old

Note: The competition age is based on the participant's ID card at the time of the competition deadline. Participants may submit one design.

4. Rules and Conditions

4.1 Submission of Works

1. Kid & Young Categories: Hand-drawn designs only.          

2. All works must be original and not previously published or submitted to any other competition.

3. The rights to the design remain with the participants, but the organizers may use the designs for promotional purposes. The designs cannot be commercially produced without permission.

4.The judges' decisions are final.

5.  Submission of Applications and Works

Kid & Young Categories: Submit the Contest application form by email to [email protected] with the subject line "Kid/Young – China & Thailand Jewelry Design Contest 2025."

5. Schedule

5.1   Kid & Young Categories

  • May 18 - June 10, 2025: Submission period for Kid & Young categories
  • June 17, 2025: Finalist selection
  • June 18, 2025: Announcement of finalists
  • June 28, 2025: Final competition and award ceremony at the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association

For the Kid and Young Categories
        Applicants will be eligible to submit their hand-drawn jewelry designs for selection in the final round. Submissions should be sent by post to:

In the final competition, finalists from both the Kid and Young Categories will compete by hand-sketching (Sketch) within 2:30 hours. Contestants must bring their own materials such as pencils, pens, colors, paper, canvas, or any other medium they are comfortable using for sketching. This will allow participants to fully showcase their skills and creativity, reflecting their true design process.

6. Judging Criteria

    1. Kid & Young Categories:

6.1.1  Creativity (40%)

6.1.2  Beauty and uniqueness (30%)

6.1.3  Feasibility for production (5%)

6.1.4  Application of "Modernize China-Thai" concept (15%)

6.1.5 Contemporary appeal (10%)

7. Prizes

  • Grand Prize (each category): 15,000 THB + Certificate
  • First Runner-up (each category): 5,000 THB + Certificate
  • Second Runner-up (each category): 3,000 THB + Certificate
  • Popular Vote Prize (each category): 3,000 THB + Certificate
  • All entries are eligible for the Popular Vote prize, with voting conducted via the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association Facebook page.
  • Certificates will be awarded to all workshop participants (Kid & Young categories).
  • Winning works will be showcased in Thailand and China.
