Mr. Chomphol Phornchindarak, President of the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA), together with Mr. Somchai Phornchindarak, President of the Gems, Jewelry, and Precious Metal Confederation of Thailand (GJPCT), and Ms. Vilasinee Noknaum, Secretary-General of TGJTA, attended the celebration marking Sri Lanka’s 77th Independence Anniversary and the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Sri Lanka. The prestigious event took place at Anantara Siam Hotel, Bangkok.

On this special occasion, the TGJTA delegation presented a congratulatory floral gift to H.E. Mrs. Edirisinghe Arachchilage Sriyani Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Thailand, as a gesture of respect and goodwill, further strengthening the relationship between the two nations.

 

Thailand and Sri Lanka share a strong and longstanding collaboration in the gems and jewelry industry. Sri Lanka is renowned for its high-quality gemstones, particularly sapphires and topazes, while Thailand is a global leader in gemstone cutting, trading, and exports. The close ties between both nations have fostered continuous exchanges in expertise, technology, and business opportunities, further enhancing the global prominence of the gems and jewelry sector.
