Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA), in collaboration with the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO), organized a significant seminar to elevate entrepreneurs to international standards.
The Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) hosted a seminar titled “Enhancing Supervision and Examination of Reporting Entities” at the Jewelry Trade Center (JTC), 52nd Floor. The event aimed to strengthen knowledge and understanding of legal frameworks and financial regulatory measures among entrepreneurs in the gems, gemstones, and jewelry sector, which is increasingly facing stricter global regulations. The seminar was held with the support of the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA).
The seminar featured Pol. Lt. Col. Chaiyana Kanjanakot from the Supervision and Examination Division of AMLO, along with expert officers, who delivered in-depth insights on proper legal compliance practices. The session aimed to help entrepreneurs effectively manage risks and conduct business with greater transparency.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Somchai Phornchindarak, President of the Gems, Jewelry and Precious Metal Confederation of Thailand (GJPCT); Mr. Chomphol Phornchindarak, President of the Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association; Ms. Wilasinee Noknuam, Secretary-General of the Association; along with board members and association members, who are entrepreneurs in the gems and jewelry industry. The seminar attracted strong participation and active knowledge exchange.
Key topics covered included anti-money laundering risk prevention in transactions, enhancing Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) standards for the gems and jewelry business, the use of the ERS system for transaction reporting, and data integration through the AMFICS system and related technologies. These mechanisms are essential in strengthening regulatory standards to align with both domestic and international requirements.
This seminar marks another important milestone for the Association in supporting Thai entrepreneurs to be well-equipped with both knowledge and legal compliance capabilities. It aims to build confidence among business partners and markets domestically and internationally, while driving the sustainable growth of Thailand’s gems and jewelry industry on the global stage.
